TCO Fly Fishing School: Spey School with Captain Jeff Liskay at TCO Boiling Springs
Join TCO at our shop in Boiling Springs for our Spey School, an unforgettable event featuring Captain Jeff Liskay, a premier Great Lakes guide and 2-handed casting instructor. With a lifelong passion for fishing that began on the south shores of Lake Erie, Jeff brings decades of expertise, a dedication to chasing chrome, and an unmatched ability to explore new fly angling techniques. Known for his approachable teaching style and vast knowledge, Jeff is eager to share his insights and help anglers of all skill levels master the art of Spey casting.
We’ve tailored the class to fit your schedule and needs. Take advantage of the full event, which includes up to two days of learning, casting, fly tying and shop discount for students.
Just make sure to bring your boots, waders, and a one or two-handed rod and reel. We’ll provide a variety of lines to try, and you’ll have the opportunity to test a two-handed rod if needed.
How is this class for? It's designed for the folks interested in starting Spey casting all the way to the experienced angler just looking to dial in their skills. Come learn from a leader in the sport!

10 am Classes Start - TCO Fly Shop Boiling Springs

3 hours of presentation/discussion with Capt. Jeff Liskay breaking down the world of Spey Casting with topics that include reading the water, casting techniques, line types (Skandi vs Skagit), one hand vs two hand, fishing destinations and more.
12:00 pm - Break for lunch (Pizza provided at the shop or feel free to bring something else)
12:45 pm - Classroom presentation continues

After the classroom portion ends - We prep for the on the water demos - Children's Lake next to the shop).
- Depending on the numbers we will break into groups.
2:00 pm - 4:30 pm On the water demos - Attendees need to bring their gear. Boots, waders, rods and reels.

Testing different lines to dial in what you need.

Casting Techniques
5:00-7:00 pm - Fly tying with Jeff at the shop. Bring your Vise and tools.
Sunday February 22
Get a more in depth, hands on 4 hour casting lesson with Capt. Jeff Liskay to dial in your fishing skills and learn from a true professional and ambassador of the sport. Don't forget your boots, waders, rod and reel for this!
