Learn to cast with purpose, efficiency, and control. In this on-the-water session, Michael Mauri breaks down the fundamentals of both single-hand and double-hand spey casting, making these highly effective techniques approachable for any angler
looking to expand their skill set. A strong emphasis is placed on roll casting, the foundation of all spey casts, helping you build the mechanics needed for consistent, efficient execution.

You’ll work through the essential casts including the single spey, double spey, and snake roll while gaining a clear understanding of anchor placement, D-loop formation, and timing. Tight quarters, current, and limited casting space demand efficiency. These techniques give you access to water others can’t reach.

Michael’s teaching style focuses on simplicity and real-world application, helping you build confidence quickly and apply these casts in practical fishing situations.
