Join us at TCO State College for a deep dive into the fascinating world where it all begins: beneath the water’s surface. This seminar explores the aquatic insects that drive our local trout streams — mayflies, caddisflies, stoneflies, and more. You’ll learn how to identify the most common species on waters like Spring Creek and Penns Creek, match them to fly patterns, and understand how seasonal hatches influence fish behavior.

We’re thrilled to be joined by James Dunlap, renowned fly fishing illustrator, and Ryan Dunmeyer, biologist and fly tier of Dun & Dun, based in PA. Both are all around buggy dudes who bring deep knowledge of the streams and the bugs that live there. Ryan will share his insights on how entomology shapes a successful day on the water, and James will showcase his supporting illustrations.

Whether you’re new to fly fishing or sharpening your hatch-matching skills, this session will change the way you see every drift. Bring your curiosity and get ready to geek out over bugs because great fly fishers start with great entomology.
