Water Temp: 60 Degrees F @9am

Fishing Overview

The flows are on the low side right now, but the fish are still eating well. Be cautious when walking into the water, since the water is low and clear the fish tend to be a bit more spooky than usual. Small flies have been working and we have been finding lots of fish in the deeper water.

The dry fly fishing has been pretty good, and the dry dropper rig has been the go to. We are seeing some fish rise but they have been picky on what they will eat on top but dropping a nymph down to them will usually get the fish to eat. The main bugs we are seeing right now are smaller tan and black caddis as well as sulphers. The caddis have been in the 16-18 size range and the sulphers have been 14-16.

Important:
Please pay attention to the water temps. With summer starting to get here the water is going to start warming up quick, so please bring your thermometers. If the water is over 65 degrees give those trout a break and target species like carp and bass!

General Info

Specific Tips

We are finding fish everywhere right now, they are still in the deeper slow moving pools but will also be in the faster water to feed. A great tip this time of year is to move your feet. Dont spend too long in one spot, those fish are spread out, so moving around can lead to great fishng.

Fishing eggs and smaller nymphs has been working well as well as streamers like kreelex minnows and wolly buggers.

These cold nights this week are going to cool that water off so fishing in the morning may be slow. If you are going fishing pretty much anywhere right now the mornings may be slow but after the sun comes up and warms the water the fishing should get better.

You can catch fish from the couch, get out there and enjoy the beautiful spring weather!!
