Meet The Staff: Chris Frangiosa

Chris Frangiosa

When did you start working at TCO?

I started working at TCO in 2006.  I was hired to manage the then recently acquired Bryn Mawr, PA location.  Quickly after that, I became the retail manager and buyer for the entire company and helped TCO grow ever since.

What is your favorite place you have fly fished? (Near or Far)

My favorite place to fish far is Los Roques in Venezuela.  This is an unparalleled flats fishing location and has some of the most beautiful waters I've ever seen.  This place is like a theme park for saltwater fisherman.  As far as near goes, I have to say winter steelhead in upstate New York.  This may be on the opposite side of the spectrum but I like extremes and there is very little like catching a fresh steelhead in the middle of an icy river.

What music is being played on your way to the stream?

Anything that makes me reflective and appreciative.  Could be 90's rap music or singer songwriter stuff.  I just have to feel it.

Besides fly fishing, what other outdoor activities do you enjoy?

I am a big time road and mountain bike rider and I also enjoy many long difficult hikes.  In addition, I am an avid photographer and car enthusiast.

Chris's Bio

I have been fly fishing since I was 12 years old and have been working full time in the fly fishing industry for about 15 years.  Fishing has always been something that I loved to do but once I started fly fishing it took my passion to a whole new level.  I started out trout fishing primarily but over the years have grown to love saltwater flats fishing above all else.  One of the great aspects of working in the industry has been the opportunity to travel and to experience so many great fisheries and cultures around the world.  I never would have imagined that my hobby would become by career.  Currently, I am the retail manager for TCO and also do all of the inventory management and buying.  In my current position I get to spend time at all of our great locations and that really keeps my job interesting.  When I am not fishing I can be found riding my road bike for long distances or hanging out at the local Cars and Coffee weekend gathering.
