TCO BOILING SPRINGS

Opened in 2017

2 East First Street Boiling Springs, PA 17007

TCO Boiling Springs is an incredible location. Situated on the banks of Childrens Lake in a quaint little PA town. The building stands as a historic fly fishing landmark, and is home to some of the originators of American fly fishing. Additionally, this store is right on the Appalachian Trail and is at the center point of that historic 2,198 mile path. The store is a fully stocked fly fishing shop as well as an Appalachian Trail supply store.

Meet the TCO Boiling Springs Staff:

Ashley Lidle

TCO Boiling Springs Store Manager

I began fishing at a young age on the Susquehanna River, targeting three-eyed fish near Three Mile Island. By age 10 I had been crowned King by winning the Heritage Hills Blue Gill Derby Championship. I spent the rest of my youth focused on fishing for Bass and becoming Bass Master, just like KVD (Kevin VanDam). These days you’ll find me fishing from a boat with plenty of snacks and Coke Zeros.

TCO Boiling Springs Retail Associate & Fly Tying Manager

Over 15 years ago, I was introduced to fly fishing while attending the American Wilderness Leadership School in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Since then, I’ve been able to turn a lifelong hobby into a full time career. Since joining the fly fishing industry as a professional, I’ve completed nearly 10 successful seasons as a guide. I’ve had the privilege to instruct in Colorado, Alaska, and Pennsylvania. I currently guide with Relentless Fly Fishing, focusing on the south central and central Pennsylvania regions for trout. While I’m not guiding, I work full time at TCO Fly Shop-Boiling Springs as an outfitter. I’ve been with TCO since April of 2021. Some of my influences include Fred DelGrosso, John Hayes Gilliland, John Galen Gilliland, Jack Inman, Joe Humphreys, George Daniel, Tom Baltz, Eric Naguski, Jake Villwock, Josh Miller, and Tim Flagler. My future fishing goal is to land a wild brown trout that exceeds 25 inches.

Favorite Places to Fish

My favorite place to fish is the Little Juniata River. This was one for the first bodies of water I was introduced to and it has a special place in my heart. The combination of history, family ties, and wily brown trout keep me coming back for more.

Favorite Species to Target

My favorite species to target is brown trout (wild) and more recently, smallmouth bass.

Despite being from the Cumberland Valley, I began my fly fishing career while living in the Catskill Mountains of New York. The plentiful wild rainbow trout running the Esopus are a prize to be treasured. It was here my fascination with wet fly fishing began. Later while living in Ireland I had the opportunity to learn about their brown trout and salmon fisheries. My fly tying influences draw heavily from Ireland and the British Isles. In recent years I have discovered a fishery closer to home - Martha’s Vineyard island in search of striped bass and false albacore! Future fishing goals include getting deeper into spey casting and fishing for salmon and steelhead, and catching a jungle dorado!

Favorite Places to Fish

The Esopus in NY near Phoenicia is where it all began. My home river in Ireland was the River Fergus in Co. Clare. I have enjoyed many memorable moments on the Menemsha jetty on Martha’s Vineyard chasing striper and albies.

Favorite Species to Target
