TCO Fly Tying Class: Tube flies for Steelhead with John Parisi

Come learn to tie one of the slinkiest steelhead flies out there. Stu's Metalhead is a tube fly built around a slotted brass cone that spins up a vortex in the current so the marabou, flash, and hackle never stop breathing and pulsing, even in heavy water. We'll cover tube-fly basics while palmering a full marabou hackle "in the round" for a fly that looks great from every angle. This is a great class if you love tying and are targeting the mighty chromer! 

• All tying materials will be provided for students to use but bring your favorite vise and tools.   

• We will explore a variety of the materials that we stock in our fly shop, so that you become familiar with how they are used.

• The class will include tips and tricks that will make the fly-tying process more enjoyable.

• You will leave the class equipped with the skills needed to expand the craft.
