As most of you probably have experienced, significant events often occur purely by chance. This was certainly the case with Andy and Lily at a lunch they had with their good friend Gary Kokaisel, an avid fly fisher and gifted woodcrafter. Andy and Lily had been brainstorming trying to come up with an ideal package to house a special vise and accessories to commemorate Renzetti’s 50th year in the fly-tying industry.  Lily mentioned this to Gary and asked if he could fashion a unique box to showcase the new product offering. He immediately said yes, and they christened it the "lunch box project" and after few alterations they were finally satisfied with the finished product.

In terms of the vise itself Renzetti’s goal was to encompass the significant developments in the last 50 years of the fly-tying industry and feature what has been touted as the most versatile fly-tying vise on the market. Of course, it embodies all the qualities that are the hallmark of the Renzetti brand, the very best materials, the highest standards of craftsmanship and the most innovative designs in the industry. In Andy words, “this vise is a timeless tribute to our journey over the last 50-years and the True Rotary feature was the absolute game changer for practically anyone who set out to tie flies.”

The Commemorative Grand Master Series is a collection of the iconic Master Vise. It is hand polished just like it was when introduced back in 1993 and incorporates a host of accessories many of which were inspired by input from luminaries like the late Lefty Kreh, Bob Popovics, Bob Clouser, David Whitlock, Nick Curcione, Blane Chocklett and Rusty Gates, to name just a few.  There is a C-clamp lap extension, C-clamp, AuSable speed crank, spinning attachment, Clouser minnow arm, streamer pedestal bench, 3-inch stem extension, and midge jaws. All these components are encased in Gary’s elegant, handcrafted cigar-style wooden box signed by Andy with the 50th year anniversary logo lasered engraved on the lid. Only 100 of these are being made

As with all our Renzetti products the Commemorative Grand Master Series is a true team effort involving our staff and input from friends. A special thanks to Joel La Follette for inspiring the name.

Proudly everything is crafted here in the USA.
