TCO Reading Store Manager
Growing up my grandfather always pushed me to explore the outdoors whether it was fishing or hunting. He grew up on the Yellow Breaches which exposed him to fly fishing at an early age. Once I became old enough for him to teach me fly fishing he put a fly rod in my hand and told me “you are a fly fisherman”, since then fly fishing has been one of the biggest and most consistent things in my life. I will never forget the first fish I caught on a fly rod. I was about 8 years old fishing for smallmouth bass in Canada. My grandfather tied on one of the ugliest poppers you have ever seen and told me to throw it by a lily pad. As soon as that thing hit the water a big bass launched itself at it. From that point I was hooked. Since then I have fished all over PA as well as Maryland, Vermont, Massachutats, Alaska, Wyoming, and Canada, with lots of other places still on the list.
This has been the most fulfilling and enjoyable job I have ever had. It brings me so much joy to hear everyone's fishing stories and watching people catch their first fish on a fly rod. Getting to spend every day with the incredible people at TCO has really opened my eyes on what fly fishing can and should be. I have been with TCO for over a year and a half and I am super excited to see what the future brings for me at TCO.
Favorite Places to Fish and Why:
Canada holds a special place in my heart since it is where I learned to fly fish and some of my best fishing memories happened there. Being on the eastern side of Pennsylvania I do most of my fishing out that way. I spend a lot of time fishing and guiding the Tulpehocken, but I also enjoy fishing in the Lehigh and Pocono areas as well as venturing out to the State college area.
Favorite Species to Target:
- Smallmouth Bass
