Penns Creek

Penns Creek Stream Report

Date:

Water Level / Clarity: Currently 1940 cfs, average is 727 cfs. | Blown Out

Water Temp: 40's | Blown Out

Fishing Overview

Penn's is blown out and is still rising, do not attempt to wade it until flows drop. Over the course of the week it will gradually drop, but it will be days until it is fishable again.
Looking forward, small jig streamers and BWOs have been productive. Keep an eye out for grannom caddis in the coming weeks. When levels drop, fish closer to the banks with the higher flows and wade carefully.

Specific Tips

Stick with nymphs deep in pools early, then fish will move into faster runs to feed when day warms up.
Best bet would be to stay with smaller nymphs and some egg patterns. Big fish on Penns love to eat Stonefly nymphs!
