Fishing Overview

Penn's is in great shape for this time of year. Small mayflies nymphs, egg patterns and stoneflies have been fishing well. Fishing has been best with with nymphs and streamers, the dry fly action picks up in the afternoon with BWO and midges around sporadically. Now's the time of year to look out for redds. Fish are spawning so please do not target actively spawning fish.

Specific Tips

Stick with nymphs and streamers unless you see fish actively feeding on top. Smaller streamers tend to have a higher hookup rate. Don't ignore the skinny water during hatches, fish will often stack there to feed heavily. Try a big Stonefly in that skinny water.
