I started fly fishing when I was in 10th grade, with my childhood friend.  His cousin was a fisheries biologist and introduced us both to fly fishing.  Since that time, I have traveled to many amazing parts of the world with a fly rod in hand… but none has captured the essence of the sport as Cuba has for me.  The food, culture, landscape, people.. and of course, the Permit, Tarpon and Bonefish.

Favorite Places to Fish:

I do enjoy spending time in the mountains of Montana… but the energy of the Caribbean still brings me back!  The conch fritters and grouper fingers that are waiting for me after a long day on the flats is one of the most compelling reasons to keep going back!

Favorite Species to Target:

  • Permit - on the barrier reef of Belize is one of my favorite places to target these fish.
  • Tarpon in Florida (location not disclosed)
  • Smallmouth in the Susquehanna River drainage… one of the most amazing places to chase Smallies.

I have been fishing since I was born.  My fly fishing journey started at 13.  I never stopped through my college career where I majored in Economics and Finance.  After graduating, I quickly learned that the suit and tie was not for me and went to work for Orvis.  In 2006, I was hired by TCO and never looked back!  The industry is now my home.  I travel all over the world and hang with amazing people, my life feels like a dream.

Favorite Species to Target

Permit and Steelhead, period.  I’ve thought about the reason and it’s hard to explain.  I would sum it up like this.  Every time I go out there, I feel like it's IMPOSSIBLE.  I love that and it makes success that much better.

I grew up fishing in Arkansas, and while I always enjoyed it, my experience with trout fishing in Idaho transformed my perspective. I love every aspect of fly fishing in Idaho; from the breathtaking Teton mountains, the impressive Brown Trout, and most importantly, fishing with a grasshopper I can see versus a size 20 Caddis I can’t. It's truly a remarkable destination. Over the past few years, I've ventured into saltwater fly fishing, which has its own special draw, primarily due to the Caribbean locations. There is something to be said for standing in the ocean waiting to spot a Bonefish.

Favorite Places to Fish

Idaho as mentioned above. Chile has captured my heart. For those who enjoy trout fishing, it's truly a dream destination. The people, the breathtaking scenery, and the abundance of trout are remarkable. Also, the small Bohemian islands for Bonefish. It’s just a different experience than over populated and over fished areas.

Favorite Species to Target

  • Trout
  • Bonefish
  • False Albacore

I was introduced to fly fishing as a way to get out of the house and misbehave in high school. My friend Willie and I would trespass on golf course ponds around the D.C. area looking for overgrown Largemouth. After a few fishing trips, I noticed that I preferred fly  fishing than misbehaving.

Now, fly fishing is just an excuse to be outside in the early morning and stomp around the river.

“I only like trout fishing when it is bass fishing!”

Favorite Places to Fish

Right now, the main-stem of the Susquehanna is my favorite place to fish. I love the mystery of the big river. No matter how much time I spend fishing that place, I feel like I never explore enough of it, adding to the mystery.

Favorite Species to Target

  • Smallmouth Bass
  • Musky
  • Largemouth
  • Snakehead
  • Striped Bass

A confluence of hobbies from photography, hiking, camping and anything outdoors related lead me to a love of fly fishing. I grew up spin fishing, but when I attended college at Messiah University in Central PA I was introduced to the fly fishing world and the opportunities that the Cumberland Valley had to offer. I have fished throughout the northeast and have enjoyed familiarizing myself with local PA streams as well as finding hidden gems within my home area of Southeastern PA. I also spend a lot of time in the water with a camera in hand. I love photography, videography and creating high quality fly fishing and outdoor content. I’m excited for the future fishing adventures that are in store, and creating content that showcases fly fishing.

Favorite Places to Fish

Any PA small stream where I feel like I can get out in nature and enjoy leaving the world behind for a while. Sometimes for me it’s more about the journey and location rather than the size or quantity of fish I catch. If I had to choose one, the Yellow Breeches would probably be it - it's where I started and learned how to fly fish. Catching brookies on dry flies from a canoe on remote Maine ponds is a close second.

Favorite Species to Target

  • Native Brook Trout - Loved targeting native brookies from VA up to Maine and have had some of my favorite trips fishing for them
  • Wild Brown Trout across the PA region (Especially in some undisclosed eastern PA creeks)
  • Smallmouth Bass

I’ve always loved the outdoors, but nothing has inspired me to get outside quite like fly fishing. For me, it’s not just about the fish on the end of the line—it’s about the journey to get there. Discovering new places, tying new flies, and mastering new techniques fuel my appetite for learning and exploration. After nearly 30 years in financial services and dreaming of joining the fly fishing community, I was fortunate enough to make it a reality. While I’m currently deep in my “trout phase,” I want to focus on other species this year and get back to where it all started for me - The Susquehanna River.

Favorite Places to Fish

Montana is my absolute favorite destination for chasing big browns, but I know there’s so much more to explore. Recently, I had the chance to fish the Smoky Mountain streams in Tennessee, and the unique experience quickly became a favorite spot for me. Also, anywhere I boondock  in the Central PA woods and explore the nearby waters feels like the perfect escape. For me, catching the fish is just the final piece of the journey—one I’ve learned never to take for granted.

Favorite Species to Target

  • Trout - Brown, Rainbow, Brook in that order. Happy to debate that
  • Smallmouth Bass on the Susky
  • Anything in the salt
