Brendan's Bio

Brendan Ruch has started his second season with us this year with lots of energy and excitement. Like most of us Brendan was introduced to fishing at a young age by his father. It quickly grew into a passion and eventually into a career as a shop employee at TCO Fly Shop in Haverford and a guide for Relentless Fly Fishing. His fly fishing passion started in high school when he found an old, unopened, Pflueger outfit in his garage. Brendan started working in the fly shop in 2016 and has not looked back.

Starting out as a largemouth bass fisherman, it’s no surprise that Brendan gravitated to the warm water scene pretty quickly. He is all but obsessed with smallmouth bass and tying the flies to fool these freshwater predators. When he is not sleeping on my couch after a long day on the water, you can find him at his tying desk, refilling his own boxes and tying commercially for clients all over the East Coast and Midwest. Some of his flies can be found in the bins of Schultz Outfitters and in the boxes of Blane Chocklett, the original designer of the game changer. He is a very talented tier, and a super energized guide and we are happy to have him on the team.
