When school is out Join TCO for a fun and educational fly tying class designed for students ages 11 to 16 who are interested in fly fishing and the outdoors. Student guardians are required to attend as a chaperone.   

 

While this class won’t earn you any school credits or AP status, it will leave you with a solid understanding of the art of fly tying. No prior experience is necessary and we’ll cover the basic tools and materials you'll need and guide you through tying a couple of beginner friendly flies to take home and try out on your local stream.

The session also includes a fly shop tour, making this a great intro to the world of fly fishing!

  • All tying materials will be provided for students to use but bring your favorite vise and tools if you have them.  

  • We will explore a variety of tools and the materials that we stock in our fly shop, so that you become familiar with how they are used.

  • You will leave the class equipped with the skills needed to expand the craft and fill your fly box and get outdoors.

When: Multiple dates to choose from: June 18th, July 16th and August 6th
