QUESTIONS
WITH JARED
When and why did
you start fly fishing?
I grew up around fishing, but that was
mostly whipping for reef fish on spinning
gear. When I got to PA for college I was
lucky enough to have a fisherman for a
best friend. He got me introduced to the
sport of fly fishing and it’s been
downhill ever since. When I get interested
in anything, it’s 100% and fly fishing
was no different.
What is your favorite
type of fly fishing? (i.e. fresh, salt,
nymph, dry etc…)
This is like asking a father to pick his
favorite child. I love trout fishing.
I love the serenity of it. But I also
love chasing bones in Hawaii. Nothing
can really compare to seeing my first
bonefish.
What are your
favorite waters to fish?
I spend most of my time here fishing Valley
Creek. I also enjoy some of the waters
up in Potter County and near State College.
So, I guess, for PA it would have to be
Valley and for Bonefish it would have
to be Paiko’s.
When you’re
not fishing, what are you doing? Past
times, Hobbies etc…
I spend a lot of my time writing. Other
than that I spend a lot of time thinking
about and working with wrestling and strength
training. My biggest headache is caused
by not being able to successfully merge
all of these interests into one particular
job field.
What are your
plans for the future within TCO, what
projects are you working on and when can
we expect to see them come to fruition?
I really just hope to contribute in a
meaningful way to the team here at TCO.
As I get more comfortable and in tune
with the company I hope to see a personal
project take shape. Right now, it’s
just learning the ropes.
