QUESTIONS
WITH JAKE
1) When and why did you start
fly fishing?
I started fly fishing when I was 18 in ponds
near my house for Bass and Panfish. It wasn’t
till I moved to Alaska to be a guide that
I decided to turn fly fishing into a lifestyle
rather than a hobby. 2)
What is your favorite type of fly fishing?
(ie fresh, salt, nymph, dry etc…)
My favorite types of fishing would have
to be Steelhead fishing or Dry Fly fishing
for Trout. I also really enjoy streamer
fishing for Smallmouth Bass and Muskies.
3) What are
your favorite waters to fish?
I enjoy fishing broken water where I can
throw a dry fly or swing a streamer. I
am biased towards big water like the Salmon
River and the Schuylkill.
4) When you’re
not fishing, what are you doing? Past
times, Hobbies etc…
I enjoy hiking and camping quite a bit.
In the summer, I like to get out a few
times behind the boat to wakeboard. In
the sports realm I was a Lacrosse player
and still follow the sport very closely.
5) What are
your plans for the future within TCO,
what projects are you working on and when
can we expect to see them come to fruition?
I am working to make TCO Reading the ultimate
East Coast Fly Fishing Headquaters. I
have been working along with the rest
of the Reading guys to offer new guiding
opportunities for our customers. We have
so many great resources nearby and we
are working hard to get our clients on
the water to enjoy the wonderful local
fishing. Along with this I will be building
more guiding opportunities for Maryland
Stripers and NY Steelhead.
