QUESTIONS
WITH BRIAN
When did you start Fly Fishing?
I started fly fishing
as a teenager and my first real experience
was on the Roaring Fork and the Frying Pan
just outside of Aspen, Colorado. I got really
into it when I drove out to Montana and
fished my way through the state basically
living out of my car driving from river
to river really learning how to fish and
break down the streams. What
is your favorite type of fishing?
I would throw streamers
everyday if I could, and most days I will
throw them. I like covering water but
if the fish are really feeding on insects
I have no problem matching the hatch.
What are your
favorite waters to fish?
I grew up fishing Spring Creek and it
is certainly always a great way to spend
a day and I love getting down to the Little
Juniata and throwing slump busters all
day, but I spent the last four summers
in Alaska and I got really spoiled. If
I had to choose one river I would say
the Copper River off Lake Iliamna for
Rainbows.
What are your
other Hobbies?
I really enjoy the
outdoors so I spend a lot of time doing
something outside. It's hard to pull me
away from the archery stand when the conditions
are right. I also enjoy a good hike and
occasionally taking the dog out for a
bird hunt.
What are your Future Plans
with TCO?
I would really like
to get into the travel aspect of the business.
I have been a guide for last four years
and I know how much I have enjoyed working
at those destinations. It would be great
if I could check out some of the other
locations especially focusing on saltwater
fly fishing.
