Stoneflies (Plecoptera) are generally very large and require very pure water. The lifecycle begins with the Nymph stage, similar to the Mayfly. However, most Stoneflies crawl onto the shoreline to hatch as an Adult. After mating, the Stoneflies return to the surface as Spinners.

Big Sky Salmon Fly
$2.50
When salmonflies or big stoneflies are on the water, this high-riding pattern will draw big trout to the surface.
Bugmeister
$2.25
Developed by John Perry of Montana, one of the longest tenured guides in the West, the Bugmeister is not representative of anything specific, but acts as an attractor for everything from wild trout to bluegills. This "meister" among trout flies has a proven track record that makes it essential in every fly box.
Cartoon Salmon Fly
$2.95
Its cartoon eyes may look funny, but there is reason for everything and these eyes may just be the difference in drawing a strike. Designed for the legendary western salmon fly fishing hatches, this pattern is a producer in what might be the most fun a dry fly angler can have. These big stoneflies crawl out of the water and up into the trees and because of their size are very visible. Fishing this pattern under the trees when they are present and the wind is blowing can produce some great days on the river.
Dropper Stone
$2.50
When things aren't happening and you can't quite figure out what to do, go to the dropper. This foam stonefly is designed with a mono loop at the back to attach a dropper. Big and buoyant, this stonefly is the perfect foam towboat for a nymph. Double your chances of catching a fish with a dropper rig. This stonefly is designed to make it easy.
Gibbs Golden Stone
$2.50
Golden Stones (Perlidae) are the most common type of large stoneflies and big trout love them. This fly pattern is a big buggy stone that works well when the adults are in the vegetation near the stream. On windy days these flies can be blown into the water. Fish this trout fly near a cut bank or sweeper downstream from some overhanging vegetation, or on a particularly windy day when the stones are out.
Griffins Stimicator
$2.50
Every angler that's tied on an indicator has had a fish take a swipe at that brightly colored orange or yellow ball. Why waste that opportunity? Georgia-based tier Kevin Griffin took a Stimulator, combined it with an indicator, and the Stimicator was born. Use it as a stonefly. Use it as an indicator. Use it is anything you please. It will catch fish, and you'll wonder why you didn't think of it yourself.
