Caddisflies (trichoptera)are moth-like aquatic insects that are extremely important to Trout. The life cycle begins as a grub-like worm called a Larva. Many varities of Caddis will build a cocoon or a case until it emerges as a Pupa where it will swim or crawl to the surface. Caddis emergence often happens very quickly, however emergers and cripples can be important to fool wary trout. The Adult Caddis live for several days to mate before returning to the surface as a Spinner.

Beadhead Caddis Pupa
$1.75 - $2.00
Simple and effective fly pattern for imitating caddis pupa. Proper color, wing pads and profile make this a winning pattern anywhere caddis populations are the primary food source.
Beadhead Krystal Caddis Larva
$1.95
This nymph is a caddis larva pattern that uses Krystal Flash for the ribbing to give it a little extra attraction. Bead head gets these nymphs down quickly. This is a great dropper fly pattern underneath a large caddis dry or other searching dry flies.
Beadhead Soft Hackle Caddis Pupa
$1.95
Bead heads and soft hackle are a killer combination in a number of caddis nymph fly patterns. Caddis swim to the surface and this fly, fished on the swing and stripped up on the turn, offers a real opportunity for success. Use this fly pattern as a dropper fly under a skittering caddis and double your pleasure.
BH Emergent Sparkle Caddis Pupa
$1.95
Before the fish are rising to caddis adults, the mature caddis pupa will break the seal, crawl out, and begin two attempts to reach the water's surface to complete the life cycle as an air-breathing adult. As it works to reach the surface, the emerging pupa will begin to drift downstream. This bead head emerger fly pattern is perfect for this period. Fish this fly across and down, letting it rise on the swing, imitating the rise of the real caddis pupa. The bead head causes the fly to ride head down which is the proper position of the emerging caddis.
Caddis Larva, Translucent
$1.75
Call or e-mail to learn more about the Caddis Larva, Translucent.
Czech-Mate Nymph
$1.95
Most Czech nymphing is done in faster moving water, in runs fly anglers would typically bypass. A large portion of Czech nymphs have what tiers call "hot spots," which help the flies stand out underwater, and the Czech-Mate Sparkle & Orange is a vividly colored nymph, proven to catch fish using a variety of nymphing techniques.
Deep Sparkle Caddis Pupa
$1.75
When he researched caddis behavior, Gary Lafontaine actually observed Caddis fly behavior under water and designed the Sparkle Pupa fly to imitate a gas bubble formed by rising caddis nymphs. Carrying these nymphs in several colors will ensure you a successful fishing day and you'll be confident using this fly.
Diving Caddis
$1.75
Call or e-mail to learn more about the Diving Caddis.
Emergent Sparkle Caddis Pupa
$1.75

Green Weenie
$2.00
The Green Weenie caddis nymph is possibly the simplest fly pattern there is. It's simply green chenille wrapped around a hook. The closest thing it might imitate is a caddis larva of the green sedge variety, but whatever it imitates, it works. That's why guides have rows of them in their boxes.
Ians Crunchy Caddis
$2.00
This fly is an Ian Colin James pattern that has built a reputation over the years as one of the best emerging caddis patterns around. This is one of the most highly reviewed and well-liked fly patterns in our collection of flies. These flies seem to work on just about anything short of saltwater flyfishing.
Iko-Caddis Pupa
$1.95
A bright bead head caddis nymph fly with a lot of sparkle to attract fish. Excellent fly choice for prospecting wherever caddis are present. Drop this caddis fly under a large Elk Wing or Henryville Special and you could be in for some fun.
Jans Pearl Caddis Pupa
$1.95
he caddis pupa either crawls out of the water or swims quickly to the surface to emerge as an adult. This pearlescent version of a caddis pupa can be fished as a dropper and pulled up on the swing or fished just under the surface as caddis pupa often drift long distances in the upper water column before emerging to the surface.
Le Bug
$1.95
If you are accustomed to using a dropper, either off of a dry fly or a nymph, then the Le Bug is the fly to try. The nymph design is very simple and it comes in a variety of colors. In the water, this bead head nymph looks very buggy and most hungry trout or bream will pounce on it. A hybrid cross between an emerger, a partridge, and a scud, this nymph will get results when nothing else will work.
Net Builder Caddis
$1.95
Call or e-mail to learn more about the Net Builder Caddis.
Oliver Edwards Hydrophyche Larva
$1.95
Oliver Edwards is a genius when it comes to fly tying. Just looking at this sedge fly you expect it to start moving. Trout will think the same thing. This nymph represents the spotted sedge caddis fly and is another excellent pattern for tight line nymphing. This fly is an important pattern in the East.
Oliver Edwards Rhycophila Larva
$1.95
This is a caddis pupae fly, but it is different genus from the caddis that builds its case and then has to break free of the shuck. These are free-living caddis pupae that live in fast cold water, are big and fat, and are strong swimmers in the riffles. Fish this fly in good, cold, fast water and swing it up through the current. As with all Oliver Edwards patterns, the realism of this caddis pupae fly is not to be denied.
Peeking Caddis
$1.75
Call or e-mail to learn more about the Peeking Caddis.
Shaggy Wire Caddis
$2.00
Wire is used to build the body of the caddis larva imitation. These types of caddis live in fast cold water which allows them to absorb oxygen through their skin. Fish this in the riffles and swim it to the surface. These larva are very strong swimmers and are not generally found in slower pools.
Sili Skin Caddis
$1.95
Use this as a dropper on a mature caddis, fish it across and down and when the drift is over, lift the rod, skitter the adult and in doing so, pull this caddis larva up as if it's pupa swimming to the surface. That's two great ways to get a strike in one move.
Sparkle Caddis Larva
$1.95
Call or e-mail to learn more about the Sparkle Caddis Larva.
Super Pupa
$1.95
One of the more realistic caddis emerger fly patterns with a bead head and an extended body -- this emerger is a trout magnet. The combination of the materials creates the illusion of an emerging caddis fly and can be fished on the swing, imitating a pupa swimming to the surface to emerge. Put a row of each color of these trout fly patterns in your box and rest easy that you have the right stuff.

Tunghead Breadcrust Nymph
$2.50
The Breadcrust Nymphs are said to have been developed in Pennsylvania many years ago and the original used a split quill from a grouse tail in the brown phase. In any case, these nymphs have been catching fish for years and now with the addition of a tungsten bead head they're even more effective as a searching or dropper pattern.
Tunghead Soft Hackle Caddis Pupa
$2.50
If there is a great looking caddis imitation with movement, weight and realism, this soft hackle fly is it. One of the best-looking nymph flies we've seen. Tied with soft hackle behind a weighted head for lifelike appearance, you can swing these flies across and down and then strip them up like an emerging nymph swimming to the surface.
Z-Wing Caddis Pupa
$1.95
Call or e-mail to learn more about the Z-Wing Caddis Pupa.
Z-Wing Caddis Pupa, Beadhead
