the Caddis Lifecycle February
25, 2012
A perennial favorite with
our customers! This class
will cover patterns to
match each stage of the
caddis fly lifecycle from
case building and free
crawling larva, swimming
pupa imitations, emergers
and adult patterns. There
will be a strong emphasis
on CDC and how to get
the best from these feathers
and their unique properties.This
class is recommended for
intermediate to advanced
level tyers.

Effective Emerger Patterns
March 10, 2012
The transition point of
an insects lifecycle as
it hatches from a nymph
or pupa into an air breathing
adult is often referred
to as the “emerger”.
Emergers represent one
of the best opportunities
for feeding trout during
a hatch, and a great opportunity
for the angler to enjoy
success on the stream
with the right fly patterns
in hand. This class will
focus on this “in-between”
stage of the aquatic insects
lifecycle and cover effective
patterns to match them.
This class is recommended
for intermediate to advanced
level fly tiers.

Tying
the Sulphur Hatch March
24, 2012
The Sulphur’s are
my favorite hatches of
the entire year as many
streams in the north-east
produce strong hatches
of both Ephemerella invaria
and dorothea sulphurs.
In this class I will teach
some of my favorite nymph,
emerger, dun and spinner
imitations from my book
“Matching Major
Eastern Hatches, New Patterns
for Selective Trout”.
This class is recommended
for intermediate to advanced
level tyers.
