professional fly fishing guides and instructors
at The Hungry Trout Fly Shop on the banks of the
Ausable River specialize in beginners and novice
fly fisherman. Rental equipment is available including
rods/reels, Simms waders and boots making The Hungry
Trout the perfect choice for your first fly fishing
experience. Your personal guide will start with
an explanation of the gear and fly casting instruction.
Once you are comfortable and understand the basic
cast and managing your fly line, it's time to hit
the water. Your Hungry Trout fly fishing guide will
teach you the in's and out's of safe "wading" and
will be by your side throughout the day, coaching,
teaching and, of course, guiding you through hooking,
